Project Name:
Kroonstad Monastery
Client:
Kroonstad Monastery
Location:
Kroonstad, South Africa
Date:
2003
A Monastery is situated inside beautiful tall Victorian brick building in Kroonstad.
Nearby ruins are converted into a low-energy conditioned air supply system using the natural climate as a resource to generate heat + cool.
Air is heated by passing through a solar heated water bed with glass roofs. Air is cooled by passing through banks of horizontal willow trees rooted in gabion walls.
